Saatchi Gallery x Daler-Rowney
Saatchi Gallery and Daler-Rowney Join Forces to Support Creative Learning Through Art
03/10/2025
Daler‑Rowney and Saatchi Gallery have announced an ongoing partnership that champions creativity, accessibility, and community engagement through the power of visual art. As the official Learning Department Supporter of Saatchi Gallery, Daler‑Rowney is playing a vital role in delivering high-quality, inclusive educational experiences by donating professional-standard art materials for workshops and learning programmes throughout the year.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to creative access, particularly for schools, families, community groups and marginalised voices. Daler‑Rowney’s donations include a wide range of materials – from paints and brushes to canvases and paper – enabling Saatchi Gallery’s Learning team to facilitate dynamic, hands-on workshops that complement the gallery’s major exhibitions. These free sessions, held both onsite and through outreach initiatives, regularly engage thousands of participants from across London and beyond.
In 2023-24, Daler‑Rowney provided materials for the gallery’s “Season of Sculpture” programme, which welcomed over 2,000 learners, including school pupils, older adults, home-educated families, and artists from underrepresented backgrounds. Participants explored themes of abstraction and structure using Daler‑Rowney paints, textured surfaces and large-scale supports, creating everything from expressive collages to collaborative installations. The programme demonstrated how access to quality tools can transform creative confidence and participation across all age groups.
Both organisations bring deep-rooted expertise to the partnership. Saatchi Gallery is internationally recognised for its dedication to contemporary art and public access, running one of the most active learning departments in the UK. Its free-to-access workshops, talks, and Learning Gallery exhibitions provide a platform for dialogue, experimentation and expression. Meanwhile, Daler‑Rowney, with a heritage dating back to 1783, is known globally for its accessible, high-quality art materials and its strong focus on education and community partnerships. From schools to social projects, the brand has long invested in making art a practical, everyday possibility for all.
This collaboration also supports wider outreach projects such as the Child Of initiative, where Daler‑Rowney supplied all materials for community workshops around themes of addiction, recovery and self-expression. Such initiatives underscore the social impact of the partnership, using art not just for skill-building but as a tool for healing, awareness and connection.
As the Learning Department Supporter, Daler‑Rowney’s involvement ensures that Saatchi Gallery can continue to deliver enriching creative opportunities that are free at the point of access – removing financial barriers and inviting new audiences into the world of contemporary art.
