Bracknell schools showcase their creativity with a colourful easter egg trail at The Lexicon
07/03/2025
In February 2025, The Lexicon Bracknell, approached local primary schools to decorate giant Easter Eggs which would be displayed around the town centre, during the Easter holidays.
The first ten schools that responded to the appeal were Ascot Heath Primary School, College Town Primary School, Cranbourne Primary School, Crown Wood Primary School, Meadow Vale Primary School, New Scotland Hill Primary School, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, The Pines School, Wildmoor Heath School and Winkfield St Mary’s CE Primary School.
The schools spent weeks perfecting their designs before they were placed on display in The Lexicon, forming an Easter Trail around the town centre during the Easter break.
Visitors to The Lexicon were encouraged to vote for their favourite egg design, as they followed the trail around town.
More than 3,000 votes were cast, which was a great testament to the ten fabulous designs created by the schools.
The Easter Egg with the most votes was Winkfield St Mary’s CE Primary School, which captured their school logo as well as colourfully embodying Easter.
Winkfield St Mary’s CE Primary School was presented with a £500 donation from The Lexicon plus £300 of art supplies from Daler-Rowney.
Melissa Wells-Gardner, Year 1 Class Teacher and Art Lead at Winkfield St Marys Primary School says: “The children thoroughly enjoyed the designing and creation process of the project and were delighted with the prize. The project has awakened the children’s love for art!”
New Scotland Hill Primary School was runner-up in the competition and received a £250 donation from The Lexicon plus £200 of art supplies from Daler-Rowney.
